[E2 News] Nanochem (CEO Choi Young-hwan), an electronic precision affiliate of Kiturami Group, and WithMasters (CEO Kim Jong-ho), a company developing on-site water recycling and sanitation solutions, have announced that they signed a Mutual Business Agreement (MOU) on the 9th for “cooperation in developing household sewage and wastewater systems,” speeding up their joint project.
The signing ceremony was held in the conference room of the Kiturami HVAC Technology Research Institute, located in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It was attended by key officials from both companies, including Nanochem CEO Choi Young-hwan and WithMasters CEO Kim Jong-ho.
Through this agreement, Nanochem will provide significant technical cooperation for the ‘RT (Reinvented Toilet)’ project, a next-generation sanitation system being developed by WithMasters with sponsorship from the U.S. Gates Foundation. Nanochem plans to supply essential precision electronic components required for RT production, including microcontrollers (Micon), exhaust fans, and silver nanowire film.
The ‘RT Project’ is a global sanitation innovation initiative that the Gates Foundation, established by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, has been promoting since 2011 to improve sanitation in underdeveloped nations.
WithMasters, which specializes in on-site water recycling and sanitation solutions, is a professional science and technology company founded by CEO Kim Jong-ho, who previously served as the President of Global Quality Innovation and President in charge of Set Manufacturing at Samsung Electronics. The ‘Innovative Toilet’ the company is developing is an on-site integrated sanitation solution designed to fundamentally resolve sanitation issues in areas lacking sewage connections and clean water.
Starting with this technical collaboration, the two companies also plan to discuss future mutual cooperation on the possibility of developing additional eco-friendly products by applying RT technology, such as household and pet sanitation solutions.
A Nanochem official stated, “We plan to supply Nanochem’s key precision components to ensure the smooth development and production of the RT system, which is a global project,” and added, “We will continue to provide Nanochem’s technology to various future eco-friendly businesses through close collaboration with WithMasters.”
