Why With Masters?

Our technology and our team are working to solve one of the world’s most urgent challenges — making safe sanitation accessible anywhere, by turning wastewater into reusable water without sewers, chemicals, or sludge. This is our story.

Our Story

The sanitation crisis isn’t waiting.
Today, 3.6 billion people — nearly half the world — still lack access to safe sanitation, threatening their health, dignity, and future.

With Masters aim to bring safe, regenerative sanitation anywhere. We transform wastewater into clean, reusable water — without sewers, without sludge hauling, and without chemicals — through an onsite that redefines what sanitation can be.

With Masters was founded in 2022 by Jongho Kim, former President and CMO at Samsung, with a mission to solve long-standing, unsolved challenges globally.

In 2024, we started to ask a bold question: What if sanitation could work anywhere — off-grid, chemical-free, and future-ready?

With funding from the Gates Foundation, that question inspired us to design and prove the world’s first onsite regenerative sanitation system, built to meet international standards and ready for real-world deployment.

Our patented technology combines biological treatment, advanced membrane filtration, and solid-waste combustion — enabling over 95% water reuse while converting sludge into harmless, odorless ash. We’ve already installed and operated OLO, in a real household. And we’re just getting started. Next, we’re scaling our impact — from individual homes to remote communities, and even to water-intensive industries.

Access to safe water and sanitation is not a privilege. It’s a human right.

From Half-Billion Device Production to Global Sanitation Revolution

With Masters is led by Jong-ho Kim, former President and Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO) of Samsung Electronics.

During his tenure, Kim oversaw 40 global Samsung factories and led a workforce of 150,000 employees to produce 500 million mobile devices annually. Over the course of 10 years, he spearheaded 1,070 new product developments and 68 process innovations, playing a pivotal role in establishing Samsung’s global leadership in smartphones, TVs, and refrigerators.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led the development of Low Dead Space (LDS) syringes to secure vaccine supply, and helped 2,800 Korean SMEs transition to smart factories—boosting productivity by over 50%—contributing meaningfully to the country’s crisis response.
